1What Is Penpost?
Penpost is a set of small, focused tools covering PDF processing, image editing, text formatting, calculators, converters, and developer utilities. Each tool does one job and does it well: open it, use it, get your result, and move on. There’s no dashboard to learn and no workflow to figure out.
There’s nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. You open a tool, use it, and leave. That’s the whole experience.
2Why We Built It
Most “free” tools online come with a catch. Some bury the actual tool under ads and pop-ups. Some ask for an account before you can do anything, even something as simple as counting words. Others quietly send your file to a server with no explanation of what happens to it next.
Penpost was built to avoid all three. The tools are genuinely free, the pages are uncluttered, and wherever a task can be done directly in your browser, that’s exactly where it happens, not on a server somewhere we control.
3How the Tools Work
Most Penpost tools run entirely as client-side code. When you upload a file or paste text into one of these tools, the processing happens on your own device, inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing sits on a server waiting to be cleaned up.
This matters for two reasons. First, it’s fast: there’s no round trip to a server and back, so results appear almost instantly. Second, it’s private: for these tools, we have no technical ability to see, store, or share what you typed or uploaded, because it never left your device.
