A WhatsApp chat link follows a fixed pattern, and the tool assembles it from your inputs in two parts. Knowing the pattern also makes it easier to spot mistakes in links you find elsewhere.
The Number Part
Every link starts with https://wa.me/ followed by the country calling code and your number, all as digits. The tool takes the code from the country you selected and joins it to the cleaned number, so you never type the code yourself.
The Message Part
When you add a message, the tool attaches it to the end of the link after ?text= and encodes it. Spaces become %20, line breaks become %0A, and other special characters are converted the same way, so the message is not cut off when the link is shared.

Several Caribbean countries share the +1 code with the United States and Canada and are told apart by an area code. The country menu lists them with the area code attached, such as +1-876 for Jamaica, and the tool joins those digits for you, so you only type the remaining local number.

The menu starts on Afghanistan, so a link generated without choosing a country points to an Afghan number. Confirm the calling code beside the country name before you copy the link.
Do Not Repeat the Country Code
The tool adds the code for you. Typing it again in the number field, for example 44 with United Kingdom selected, creates a doubled code and a link that goes nowhere.
Keep the Message Short
A line or two is easy to read and easy to edit. Long scripts are harder to scan and quicker to delete, and the person still has to press send before the message actually goes through.
