How to Use This Image Cropper?

Free Crop
With Free selected, the crop box moves and resizes without any fixed proportion, so you can trace any shape by hand. This is the right choice when the target size is unusual, or when you simply want to remove distracting edges without matching a standard ratio.
Fixed Ratio Crop
Selecting a preset like 1:1 or 16:9 locks the crop box to that proportion while you move or resize it, so every corner stays perfectly in ratio. Entering exact width and height values and clicking Apply does the same thing, but targets a precise pixel size for the platform you are uploading to.

Does Cropping Reduce Image Quality?
Cropping itself does not blur or degrade a photo, since it only removes pixels outside the box rather than resampling the ones you keep. Quality loss instead comes from the export settings you choose afterward. PNG exports are lossless, while JPG and WEBP use the Quality slider to balance sharpness against file size. The Export Scale control can multiply the output up to 4x, which is useful when the cropped area is small and you still need a large, sharp file for print or a retina display. Can You Crop a PNG and Keep Its Transparent Background?
Yes. When you crop a PNG or WEBP image and export it in the same format, any transparent areas from the original stay transparent in the result. The tool only fills the canvas with a solid color when you export as JPG, since that format cannot store transparency at all. This matters for logos, stickers, icons, and cut-out product shots where the background needs to stay clear instead of turning white. To keep transparency, leave PNG or WEBP selected in the Output Format row before you download.
