In Short: How to Trade in Grow a Garden
To trade in Grow a Garden, you need a Trading Ticket from the Gear Stall for 100,000 Sheckles. Equip the ticket, interact with another player, and the trade window will open where you can exchange up to 12 pets or fruits, plus any amount of Sheckles. Both players must confirm twice to complete the trade, making it safe and scam‑free.
Trading is one of the most exciting features in Grow a Garden. Before the 1.17.0 Trading & Cooking update, players could only gift items, which wasn’t very safe and often caused scams. Now, the new trading system allows players to securely exchange pets, fruits, and Sheckles in a way that protects both sides. With confirmations, clear values, and safe item transfers, trading has become one of the best ways to interact with other players.
Why Use the Trading System?
The gifting system still exists, but it is not nearly as safe as trading. The new system requires both players to accept and confirm every step of the exchange. It also displays the total trade value, which helps in checking if the deal is fair. This prevents unfair trades and last‑minute tricks, making the system much more reliable.
How to Get a Trading Ticket

To begin trading, you must first obtain a Trading Ticket. These are sold at the Gear Stall for 100,000 Sheckles. The stall can be found right next to the Cosmetics and Crafting Stand, and if you don’t want to walk there, you can use a Recall Wrench to teleport quickly. Tickets are labeled as Uncommon items, which means they are usually available, but not guaranteed every time you visit the shop. When you find them in stock, it is wise to buy extra tickets because you may not see them again immediately.
Important:
- Price: 100,000 Sheckles
- Location: Gear Stall (next to Cosmetics & Crafting Stand)
- Type: Uncommon (may not always be in stock)
How to Use a Trading Ticket

After purchasing your ticket, you’ll need to equip it from your inventory or hotbar. Once equipped, face the player you want to trade with and press the interact button (E on PC). The other player will receive a pop‑up to accept or decline. If they accept, your ticket will be consumed and cannot be refunded, even if the trade does not go through.
When the trade window opens, both players can add items. Pets and fruits are added using the green plus button, while Sheckles are entered by typing in the desired amount. The trade limit allows up to twelve pets or fruits per ticket, while Sheckles are added separately and do not affect the item count. Items marked as favorites (with a red heart) cannot be traded unless you unfavorite them first. Also, if the other player’s inventory is full, the trade will not complete until they make space.

Confirming the Trade Safely
During the trade, the top of the window shows the estimated total value of both sides. While this is helpful, it is only an estimate, so don’t rely on it completely. If you make a mistake, you can remove an item by clicking on it again. Once both players are happy, they press Accept. If either side changes anything after that, both must accept again, which prevents last‑minute scams. Finally, there is one more confirmation screen where both players must press Confirm. If either player declines at this point, the trade is canceled. If both confirm, the trade is completed safely within a few seconds.
What Items Can You Trade?
Currently, the list of tradeable items is limited. Players can exchange:
- Fruits
- Pets
- Sheckles
At this time, crop seeds cannot be traded, but this may change in future updates.
How to Disable Trade Requests
If you don’t want to trade with others, the game gives you the option to turn off trade requests. Open the settings menu by pressing the gear icon in the top‑left corner of your screen. From there, disable the trade request option, and no one will be able to send you invites.
