How This Tool Builds Your Password
The Password tab and the Memorable tab construct results in different ways, but both are designed so the character types you select are guaranteed to appear, not just possible.
Character Password Generation
The tool first picks one character from every type you have selected, so an uppercase letter, a number, or a symbol can’t be left out by chance. The rest of the length is filled from a combined pool of your selected types, and the whole string is then shuffled so the guaranteed characters aren’t stuck at the start.
Memorable Passphrase Generation
Each word is picked at random from a built in word list, capitalized if you’ve turned that option on, and joined with your chosen separator. If you enable Add Number, two digits are appended at the end, and if you enable any character types, one of each is injected at a random position inside the finished passphrase.
Because your browser’s cryptographic random number source is used for every character and every word choice, results are not predictable from one generation to the next, even with the same settings.
What Password Length Should You Choose? (8, 12, 16, and Beyond)
People search for a specific character count for a reason, most sites cap or require a minimum length, and the right choice changes what the password is actually good for. Use the length slider in the Password tab to match one of these ranges.

If you’re unsure which length a specific account needs, generate at the higher end first. Most forms that reject an overly long password will tell you immediately, so you can shorten it with the slider and generate again.

Need a Password Without Symbols or Numbers?
Some login forms, PIN style fields, and older systems only accept letters, or reject certain symbol characters outright. This tool handles that without any workaround. In the Password tab, simply uncheck Numbers and Symbols to get a letters only result, or uncheck just Symbols if the field accepts numbers but not special characters. The same logic applies to bulk generation in the 5 Passwords tab, and to the Memorable tab, where character injection only happens for the types you leave switched on.
Keep in mind that removing character types lowers the number of possible combinations, so if a site allows symbols, it’s worth turning them back on and compensating with a longer length instead.
What Makes a Password Strong?
Strength mostly comes down to two things: how long the password is, and how many different types of characters it mixes together. A longer password with only lowercase letters can still be weaker than a shorter one that combines letters, numbers, and symbols. This tool’s strength meter reflects that by scoring both length and character variety, then labeling the result from Weak up to Strong.
